SAMUEL COCKING GARDEN

The Samuel Cocking Garden is located on Enoshima Island, south of Tokyo.

The Samuel Cocking Garden is located on Enoshima Island, a small resort island on the Sagami Bay about 40 miles south of Tokyo.

This garden’s origin is different, as it was not created by the Japanese.

A part of the island was purchased in 1880 by Samuel Cocking, a British merchant established in Japan.

He then developed a small botanical garden among other realizations on the island (and in Japan).
